COCHLEAR IMPLANT AWARENESS, EDUCATION, INFORMATION AND SUPPORT FOR ADULTS

Pathways to Cochlear Implantation: The Northern Cochlear Implant Programme Recipients’ Experiences

Have you received a cochlear implant through The Hearing House within the past year?

To understand this phenomenon, Ji Hee Hong, a Masters of Audiology student at the University of Auckland is conducting research to better understand what barriers and facilitators exist for Northern Cochlear Implant Programme recipients during their transition from hearing aids to CI. You are invited to participate in our online questionnaire (through Qualtrics) which would take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Upon completion, if you wish to discuss more about your journey, you are invited for an interview (60 minutes) and will be given a koha of a $30 voucher. In order to be eligible for this study, you must: be aged over 21, have received a cochlear implant from the Northern Cochlear Implant Programme (e.g. The Hearing House), have post-lingual onset of deafness with typical spoken language abilities, and a minimum 1-year post-implantation.

If at any point during the informed consent procedure or questionnaire process you have any questions regarding the research, or if you experience any technical difficulties, please contact Ji Hee Hong at  jhon295@aucklanduni.ac.nz
