THE WORLD REPORT ON HEARING STATES:

“A cochlear Implant is one of the most successful neural prostheses developed.”

Cochlear implants change lives and open up new opportunities for recipients. In spite of this, globally, only 1 in 20 people who could benefit from a cochlear implant receives one.

This has got to change.

One year ago today, on 25th February 2021, International Cochlear Implant Day, the Cochlear Implant International Community of Action (CIICA) was launched.

The Pindrop Foundation is a proud member of CIICA, whose network now includes 77 organisations, and 350 individuals from 48 countries across the globe. We are all united in the goal of achieving access to cochlear implants for all those who could benefit from one.

To celebrate this wonderful global collaboration’s achievements, some of CIICA’s members have shared their messages of support in addition to how the pandemic has affected their local cochlear implant community.
